Sandra Parra is a multidisciplinary photographer and visual artist based between the United States and Mexico. Her practice moves across portraiture, conceptual photography, visual storytelling, and experimental image-making, exploring memory, identity, perception, intimacy, and the spaces between the conscious and the imagined.
Her work is shaped by an ongoing interest in how images can hold experiences that resist straightforward representation: dreams, fragments of memory, inherited narratives, emotional states, and the traces left by place and time. Moving between the observed and the imagined, Parra approaches photography not only as a way of documenting the world, but as a means of questioning, reconstructing, and entering it.
Alongside her photographic practice, Parra develops an evolving body of written and visual work, allowing photography and language to intersect as parallel forms of inquiry. Across these different facets of her practice, she is interested in the instability of perception and in the ways personal and collective stories are remembered, transformed, and reimagined.
